Kara Egwuatu

The Law Office of Kara K. Egwuatu PLLC located in Sugar Land, TX proudly serves both Fort Bend and Harris counties. Kara focuses her practice exclusively in family law and is an aggressive advocate in matters including divorce, child custody, child support, prenuptial agreements, enforcements, adoptions and other family law matters. Kara works closely with her clients to solve problems and to reach durable, enduring resolutions.

Kara is skilled in collaborative divorce and a proponent of divorce with dignity and integrity. While she recognizes that clients are often most satisfied when cases resolve through settlement agreement, Kara understands that some cases must go to court. Having argued and tried hundreds of motions and cases in Texas courts, Kara is an experienced litigator who fiercely advocates for her clients in the courtroom. Kara is a Houston native with roots in the Jersey Village community. Kara received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Prairie View A&M University. While at Prairie View, Kara was a USDA 1890 National Scholar. Kara was crowned Miss Prairie View A&M University, where her platform was “Leadership development for all PV students”. Through her platform, she sought to expose the student body to lectures and speakers aimed at leadership development for all students. Kara graduated from Prairie View with Magna Cum Laude honors. 

Kara went on to attend law school at South Texas College of Law located in downtown Houston, Texas. While in law school, Kara was awarded the Dickerson-Moore Humanitarian Award, which is an award presented to a student who has demonstrated exceptional contributions to human dignity through efforts to improve the welfare and human conditions of others both in and outside of the law school community. 

Kara is an active member of her community serving on numerous boards and associations. Kara is happily married to her husband Brian, and they are the proud parents of four wonderful children.
